Moderno Porcelain Works Launches in Orlando, FL

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the Moderno team opened a new showroom in Orlando, Florida with a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Interior designers, custom home builders, architects, and other industry peers shared in the festivities while touring one of Moderno’s largest showrooms. Filled with countless exquisite large-format porcelain (5’x10′) slabs and custom porcelain applications, this carefully designed space is the perfect site to plan your next porcelain project.

“Whether you’re a designer or homeowner, bring us your ideas, your dreams, we can create it. You would be shocked at some of the things we’ve produced out of porcelain.” Mike Heylmun, Moderno’s chief operating officer, said as the room toasted to new beginnings in Orlando. Moderno began three years ago as a porcelain countertop company predominately servicing homeowners. We have expanded our operations to fabricating and installing large-format porcelain for flooring, shower walls, fireplace surrounds, outdoor living spaces, and other applications in the residential and commercial arenas. We continue to grow our experience with custom products such as furniture, fireplace mantels, and integrated sinks.

Randy Brackett, the general manager of Orlando, explained that despite the challenges of delaying this showroom opening, his team gave a tremendous amount of commitment to reach the finish line, “To me, the most impressive part of this buildout was that we completed the entire space as a team. Through all the highs and lows, together, we finished this extraordinary place for the customers looking for the endless possibilities of porcelain.” Moderno invests early on in their teams with an in-house training program dedicated to the substantial craftsmanship of large-format porcelain. Now geared with a skilled team and the leading surfacing technology, Orlando is ready for its next significant porcelain project. Randy concluded, “My team is an integral part of Moderno’s success, and I am proud to be working with them.”

It was an eventful night filled with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and over 75 square feet of porcelain giveaways. We were happy to have the pleasure of sharing the evening with Orlandoans and look forward to collaborating on new porcelain projects.
